I have found that having diversified mix of movie favourites makes for great return on social investment. The Power of a Budget

I don’t know why it’s taken me till the age of 44 to come up with a comprehensive and detailed idea of where I spend my hard-earned cash. It’s actually rather embarrassing to put down on paper. 

I mean, I was of the firm belief that in any given month I generally had a fairly good idea of where it’s spent, BUT (and please notice that’s a big BUT), the recent exercise I’ve performed laid all those thoughts to waste.

The Bigger Picture

No one can call the Purple office a boring place to work. Everywhere you look there is a different colour, image or word which for a moment pulls you away from the ticker-tack of laptops, the hum of fierce activity, the to-do lists, and the general work churning mechanics of the place. For a visual person like me – these are welcome brain snacks for my imagination.

We’ve got some very interesting pieces up on the walls of our office – the dismantled typewriter being a favourite of mine – and recently we added a kaleidoscope of portraits to the reception area. A representation of all the people who make up the bigger picture that is Purple. Carel Nolte, who heads up Communications at Purple, has a keen interest and involvement in the arts. He explains the thinking behind this idea: “Purple is about people. That’s our unique quality and a unique quality for any company – the individuals in it and how they come together as a group. Those portraits can all stand by themselves. But when you put them together they become something else. You can move them around and that changes the picture as well. It’s diverse, like our group is diverse.”
