Born2Run: Fueling Comrades Marathon Athletes

The road to success is rarely a solitary journey. For runners in the EasyEquities Born2Run community, the path to achieving their goals is built with support, perseverance, and a shared passion for both running and investing. Meet Musa Nkosi, Stephan Koch, Michael Mashiane, and Vinnige Fanie—four dedicated athletes whose stories reflect the essence of the Easy running club.

Musa Nkosi chose EasyEquities Born2Run for the support he found there. "They have supported me, and I believe in loyalty," Musa shares. His motto, "Don’t dream of winning, train for it," speaks to his dedication. As he prepares for his first Comrades Marathon with an estimated completion time of six hours, Musa balances speed and endurance in his training. His journey shows how essential it is to have a community that believes in you.

Stephan Koch, known as Stevie, is a 30-year-old speedster who found a home in the welcoming community of EasyEquities Born2Run. "The supportive club management and the camaraderie among runners" drew him in. With three Comrades Marathons already behind him, Stephan is preparing for his fourth, aiming for a time around 6:30 to 6:40. His experience highlights the value of structured training and the joy of running with a group.

Michael Mashiane, affectionately called Mike, values the continuous support from Born2Run. Having completed five races this year, including the 48km Benoni Ultra Marathon, Mike is now focused on achieving a personal best at the upcoming City2City Ultra Marathon. His commitment to training and a healthy diet mirrors the hard work and perseverance shared by his fellow runners.

Vinnige Fanie, a 55-year-old architectural draughtsman, discovered his place in EasyEquities Born2Run after the COVID-19 pandemic. Spending time with the Pretoria Club runners, he found the support, encouragement, and friendships he needed. Known for his speed, Vinnige Fanie's major races this year include the Cape Town Marathon, Comrades Marathon, and Durban International SA Marathon Champs. With a personal best of 02:58 in the Cape Town Marathon, Fanie is inspired by his motto, "Do what you do as if it is the last one. Today is a given, tomorrow is not."

Lessons Beyond the Track
Running and investing share striking similarities in their long-term approach. Both require consistency, discipline, and patience to see meaningful results.

The principles of perseverance, goal-setting, and strategic planning are pivotal in both pursuits. Just as a runner builds endurance through regular training, an investor grows wealth by consistently contributing to their portfolio and making informed decisions. Managing risks, setting goals, and staying focused on the bigger picture are key to success in both running and investing. Vinnige Fanie adds, "Running is an investment in itself. You invest in your health; what you put in is what you get."

The Heart of EasyEquities Born2Run
At the core of EasyEquities Born2Run is a belief in the power of community. Without a support team, athletes would struggle to reach their full potential.

As these runners prepare for their biggest challenges, they do so with the knowledge that they are not alone. They are part of a community that celebrates their achievements, supports them through tough times, and shares in their dreams.

In the words of these dedicated athletes, the journey with EasyEquities Born2Run is about more than just running; it's about finding a home, building resilience, and learning life lessons that extend far beyond the finish line. Whether you're lacing up for your first race or planning your next investment, remember: "Consistency unlocks greatness."
