Market volatility continues to present potential opportunities for investors to accumulate shares at prices more closely aligned with company profits and dividends, as ongoing tariff concerns weigh on investor sentiment.
In this week’s dividend update:
- Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC, a leading aerospace and defence company, is preparing to pay its first dividend in some time. Investors should take note of the last date to trade to qualify is this week.
- Abbott, a multinational medical device and healthcare company, has been paying quarterly dividends since 1924. The company is also a member of the S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats Index, which includes companies that have increased their dividends for 25 consecutive years.
- BAE Systems PLC, another major aerospace and defence company, is offering a cash dividend that’s 11% higher than last year’s final payout.
- UBS Group AG, a multinational investment bank and financial services firm, is increasing its upcoming cash dividend by 29%. In addition, UBS has raised its gold price target to $3,500/oz across its forecast horizon and remains bullish on the metal. This stance is driven by ongoing tariff-related and geopolitical risks that continue to impact both U.S. and global economic outlooks. The upcoming payout from UBS will include both an ordinary dividend and a return of capital.
Looking at gold: prices have been rising in response to escalating trade war concerns. Satrix RESI, a South African resource-focused ETF, is up nearly 40% year-to-date and is offering a dividend more than 150% higher than last year. With 55% of its holdings allocated to gold mining, the fund may appeal to income-focused investors seeking to reduce direct exposure to individual mining stocks. Here's the full list of funds that will be paying dividends.
