Only a few days remain before March, with cash dividend payouts ready to march 🥁🚶♂️ (#MoneyMarch) into shareholders' accounts. Nearly 100 companies from different markets are preparing to pay dividends, as highlighted in this week's dividend update. Will dividends be marching 🥁 into your portfolio? 🤔💭
Earnings season is also still in full swing, with investors keeping a close eye on US-Listed companies like Duolingo Inc., Nvidia, Sasol, AMC, Snowflake, and Dell all set to announce their earnings this week.
Dividend-paying companies with upcoming last trade dates to qualify for dividends include:
- Nike, which recently launched its NikeSKIMS product in partnership with Kim Kardashian. According to the company:
"This partnership brings together the best of both brands and unlocks an incredible opportunity to disrupt the industry with our shared passion and commitment to innovation… Exploring options within the NIKE, Inc. portfolio- spanning Nike, Jordan Brand, and Converse."
Nike has a history of increasing its quarterly dividend annually and is expected to make two more payouts after the upcoming one before raising its dividend again.
NextEra Energy Inc., WK Kellogg Co., and Realty Income Corp. are among the companies in the latest update set to increase their upcoming dividend payouts.
- WK Kellogg Co. is increasing its dividend payout for the first time since it began paying dividends.
- Realty Income Corp. has paid dividends for over 600 consecutive months, and the upcoming dividend marks its 110th consecutive quarterly increase.
- NextEra Energy Inc. boosted its cash payout by 10% and plans to maintain 10% annual dividend growth through at least 2026.
A share buyback is another form of returning value to shareholders, as a company repurchasing its own shares reduces the number of outstanding shares.
Plus500 Ltd. will be paying a special dividend along with an ordinary cash payout. Additionally, the company has authorized a share buyback program of over $100 million.
Other companies with upcoming last trade dates to qualify for dividends include McDonald's, Electronic Arts, Diageo (which owns Johnnie Walker, Baileys, Cîroc, and Tanqueray), and Unilever (owner of brands like Dove, Magnum, and Lifebuoy).
- Diageo and Unilever will be paying dividends to shareholders across American, British, and European markets.
- It’s also worth noting that Unilever intends to spin off its ice cream business, which includes Magnum and Wall’s, by the end of the year.
