As we celebrate Women's Month, we're introducing Fighters Club as the newest Donate for Good beneficiary. While Fighters Club has made its name by championing women's boxing and creating opportunities for female athletes, its mission extends far beyond the ring.
Fighters Club is a South African boxing promotions company committed to growing the sport while creating meaningful impact. In less than a year, it has become a leader in women's boxing, staging Africa's only female world title fights and paying some of the highest purses in the country.
This month, through its Fight & Feed initiative, the Fighters Club empowers individuals through education, mentorship, financial literacy, and personal development - helping people build stronger futures for themselves and their families.
"As a woman in sport and an EasyEquities investor myself, this partnership means a great deal to me," says Chich Nyama, Chief Operating Officer at Fighters Club. "At Fighters Club, we believe empowerment cannot stop at visibility. It has to become access, education, confidence, and opportunity. Boxing teaches discipline, resilience, and courage, and those are the same values people need when they begin taking control of their financial futures. Through Fight & Feed and Donate for Good, we are able to support communities in a way that goes beyond one event or one fight night. We are helping people build skills, confidence, and stronger futures for themselves and their families."
This partnership reflects a shared belief that empowerment extends beyond a single event. Whether it's helping someone step into the boxing ring, gain new skills, or unlock new opportunities, Fighters Club is committed to creating lasting impact in the communities it serves. Through Donate for Good, EasyEquities investors can help support that mission and contribute to meaningful, long-term change.
As our professional Jiu-Jitsu athlete and EasyETFs Junior Business Development Analyst, Gareth Bockel, puts it: "Women are fighters every single day. Whether it's in their careers, for their families, or for their dreams, they show incredible resilience. They deserve access to the skills, opportunities, and support that empower them to face any challenge with confidence."
Representing EasyETFs, which manages nearly R3 billion in assets under management (AUM), Gareth's message reinforces the importance of empowering more women to build long-term wealth through investing. Studies have shown that women often outperform men over the long term by taking a disciplined, patient, and consistent approach to building wealth.
Taking the fight beyond the ring, EasyEquities is partnering with the organisers to give every fighter who doesn't yet have an EasyEquities account R50 to kick-start their investment journey and take their first step towards building long-term wealth.
"Women's empowerment is about creating opportunities that last long after the final whistle or the last round," says Essay Govender, Head of Sales at EasyRetire. "When women are given the confidence to pursue their ambitions in sport and the knowledge to build long-term financial security through investing, they don't just change their own futures - they inspire and uplift families, communities, and the next generation. We hope this partnership encourages more women to take that first step, both in the ring and on their investing journey."
The initiative is especially meaningful given that Fighters Club's Chief Operating Officer is also an EasyEquities investor, reinforcing the belief that true empowerment isn't only about breaking barriers in sport - it's also about building financial confidence and creating lasting wealth.
Every rand donated through Donate for Good during the campaign will go directly to Fighters Club, supporting its Fight & Feed initiative and the work it does to empower individuals through education, mentorship, financial literacy, and community development.
"The funds raised through Donate for Good will help Fighters Club invest directly into the long-term development of our fighters and the communities we serve," says Nyama. "Through Fight & Feed, we want to equip fighters with more than an opportunity to compete. We want to help them understand how to build their personal brands, position themselves for sponsorships, create sustainable repeat income, and become commercially sellable beyond fight night. When fighters are able to earn better, manage their money better, and invest with their futures in mind, the impact extends far beyond the ring. It supports their families, strengthens their communities, and helps create a generation of athletes who are not only champions in sport, but empowered individuals with the tools to build lasting stability."
Together, EasyEquities investors can help create a lasting impact, ensuring the fight for empowerment continues well beyond the ring.
