We are nothing without our environment: Donate for Good and support conservation!

If you've been investing lately you might have noticed the option to donate an extra bit of your investing spend to an established charity. In November these donations would have gone to the Nature’s Valley Trust (NVT), an NPO working on preserving one of the most spectacular stretches of wild coastline in the world. It’s all found right here in South Africa, nestled in the Garden Route.

At the beginning of October, the Otter African Trail Run which was sponsored by EasyEquities and Emperor Asset Management (whose bundles have made their way into many of our INVSTRs portfolios), was hosted by Magnetic South and SANParks. This saw trail runners run the length of the Tsitsikamma National Park from Storms River to Nature’s Valley, a total of 42km and the full length of South Africa’s oldest Marine Protected Area. Although sponsored by EasyEquities this run is definitely not easy!

This annual event celebrates our beautiful country whilst showing the endurance and determination of South Africans. The runners connect with our natural environment in the most elemental way possible and see for themselves the fruits of conservation along the way.

Nature’s Valley Trust (NVT) plays an integral role in helping SANParks to keep this spectacular coastline as pristine as it is. NVT works at the cutting edge of integrated conservation and operates in four main arenas, namely Conservation, Environmental Education, Community Engagement and Research. They take a holistic view of people and the environment and use their four programmes to help shape how people live, how they view the world around them, and how they as individuals can contribute to conserving the natural world.

If you want to play your part and do some good along with growing your wealth in your investing journey, you can learn more about donating for good here or by clicking below. The latest charity, Hot Cares, is an initiative by Hot 1027 FM. They do some pretty amazing stuff there too, which you can read about here
