Since the beginning of the year, investors have donated over R100 000 to five organisations making a difference in South Africa, using the donate for good feature on the EasyEquities platform!
For our sixth charity on Donate for Good this year, we have Breadline Africa.
Breadline Africa, one of the biggest educational infrastructure providers for poverty relief in Southern Africa, has provided more than 1,000 infrastructure facilities (such as classrooms, libraries, kitchens & toilets) to poverty-stricken communities since its establishment in 1993, impacting more than 250,000 beneficiaries!
The organisation is currently working towards providing infrastructural support to South African toilets. From a Sustainability Development Goals (SDG) perspective, hygienic toilets and sanitation are important to achieving SDG 6. The goal is to ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
"This initiative holds the power to change the landscape of health and safety for children in schools within impoverished communities across the nation. Our vision is to create secure, conducive learning environments where our children can flourish. With the support of the people of South Africa, we will forge a brighter future together," said Marion Wagner, the CEO of Breadline Africa.
The SDG Target 6.2 is to make sure everyone has access to proper sanitation and hygiene.
The South African-based non-profit organisation believes that every child has the capacity to do something amazing with his or her life. When a child’s imagination is unlocked, possibilities are opened up, allowing them to choose a path for their own future. Breadline Africa enables this journey by providing initiatives and infrastructure to support childhood development in Southern Africa. You can read more about it here.
The donate for good initiative allows investors to donate to some of the leading active citizen’s organisations, working towards a sustainable and equal society.
