Where do you work? What position are you in?
Currently I’m based in Cape Town, working for Ruben Reddy Architects as an Architectural Technologist.
Are you on social media?
I’m not so much into the social patterns of life. I do have a Hotstuffracing account, LinkedIn account and a joint account with my wife on Facebook
Who would you play in a movie?
Tom Cruise or Vin Diesel - my favourite actors
Seeing as family is most important, tell us about yours:
I don’t have a family of my own at the moment (I only recently got married in September 2015) but I do have a family in Mossel bay. My parents are both still alive, I have an elder sister, brother-in-law with kids and a younger brother. My wife’s family is quite big and we enjoy social gatherings on a regular basis.
In two lines, explain your personality:
Hard worker, someone you can rely and depend on no matter what, trustworthy. Hate it when people tell white lies, always going the extra mile in anything I do.
List your top five passions/hobbies:
Running, cycling, investing, reading books (on investing and architecture) and photography.
What music gets you to your happy place?
Rock and Trance (in a working environment with headphones)
Why is saving important?
There is a difference between saving and investing. Saving is when one saves up to spend later.
First of all one needs to be disciplined - it takes a clear positive mind with goals to start investing. Secondly if everyone in South Africa could save a small portion monthly we could increase the value on the weak currency to be more positive.
Richard Branson walks up to you and says you can have 10 million rand to launch your best entrepreneurial idea. What is it (in three lines)?
Your house is burning down and you can only save 1 item. What is it and why did you pick it?
Bible – ‘man can’t live alone on bread' the Word is important, other items are covered by insurance.
Have you always been a smart saver?
No.
Was there anyone who mentored you or inspired you along the way?
Yes:
My wife's uncle, Glenville Lenders, planted the seed almost 2 years ago. We we had several conversations on investing ect.
Ann Wilson (The Wealth Chef) influenced me when I opted for a course in Financial Freedom University in February 2016 to expand my financial knowledge. It was a life changing experience.

Any causes you are passionate about?
Ubuntu Photography, an initiative which gives back to the community through a yearly project involving taking pictures of unprivileged kids and adults in different environments.
If you could take anyone in the world to dinner, who would it be and why?
An unprivileged/ hungry kid who needs it more than we do - the basic is just enough in life, keep it simple.
If you were given a free holiday, where would it be?
Japan, India to experience their life conditions.
