Monthly Bundle Returns - February 2022

In another wild month, the world united to watch the winter Olympics happening in Beijing. While in South Africa, the petrol price went up, largely related to the price of oil increases. This was exacerbated by the tensions in Eastern Europe between Russia and Ukraine. South Africans also saw another hike in interest rates.

As we geared up for the budget speech here in South Africa, Russia declared war on Ukraine, causing many countries and companies across the globe to impose sanctions on Russia. This played havoc with global markets and as individual stocks fell commodities boomed as often happens in times of war. With the price of oil now being at a record high, consumers are feeling the pinch showing troubling signs for the rest of the year.
