The Maharishi Invincibility Institute is the latest EasyEquities 'donate for good' partner. It provides free education to young people through 13 campuses in five countries. The institute is 70% self-funding, with students handling campus maintenance and managing various functions for several companies, including Nando’s, Multichoice, and Imvula Securities. Additionally, a significant portion of the institute's funding comes from alumni, while the remainder is sponsored by the private sector.

The Institute currently has more than 1 000 registered students in fields as diverse as financial markets, cyber security and consciousness studies (including transcendental meditation and yoga).  This number will rise to 4500 in 2024, when the institute moves into its new premises at 45 Main Street in Johannesburg. The 2 200m2 building was donated by Anglo American, who previously had its head office there.

Maharishi offers consciousness-based education with the aim of getting people into quality jobs rather than low-level, working poor jobs. Students are provided with a holistic education in an environment that promotes academics and personal growth.

To date the institute – which has expanded to include a pre-school, a high school, 12 industry professional academies and a private college – has placed 20, 915 students in professional roles, supporting an estimated 150 000 people.

“South Africa desperately needs young leaders in politics, economics and civil society across all areas of the economy,” says Maharishi Invincibility Institute founder and head, Taddy Blecher. “We need to train young people who’ve got vision, resilience and integrity, and who have the potential to become real servant leaders.”
