EasyResearch Weekly Dividends Update

This week's update features several companies increasing their dividend payouts, spending up to billions of euros on share buybacks in an attempt to boost shareholder value.

  • Beiersdorf AG, a German multinational company that owns several well-known consumer brands, including Nivea for skincare, Eucerin for sensitive skin, and La Prairie for anti-aging products, significantly increased its annual dividend by 43%.
  • Ferrari N.V., an Italian luxury sports car manufacturer known for its high-performance vehicles, racing pedigree, and iconic design, raised its annual dividend by 35%.
  • Stellantis N.V., a multinational automotive corporation that produces a wide range of vehicles under various brands, including Peugeot, Citroën, Fiat, Jeep, and many more, increased its annual dividend by 16%.

For buybacks:

  • Beiersdorf AG plans a €500 million share buyback starting May 2024, ending by 2024.
  • Stellantis is conducting a €3.0 billion share buyback in 2024.
  • Ferrari N.V. is in the midst of its €350 million fourth tranche buyback program, running from November 2023 to June 2024, as part of its larger €2 billion buyback plan ending in 2026.

Nokia announced an increased dividend and a new two-year share buyback program worth €600 million.

In other corporate actions and events:

  1. Transaction Capital shareholders will soon receive their WeBuyCars shares.
  2. Coronation Fund Managers Limited, one of South Africa’s largest independent asset managers, launched an odd-lot offer for shareholders with fewer than 100 ordinary shares and a specific offer for those holding between 100 and 500 shares.
  3. EasyEquities, owned by Purple Group, is winding up the AMI Big50 ETF (EasyETFs AMI Big50 EX-SA ETF) due to scale issues, leading to a trading suspension on the JSE to protect unit holders.
