In May, as we celebrate Mother’s Day, we are reminded that women are the mothers of nations - nurturing, guiding, and shaping future generations with love, strength, and resilience. This month offers us a moment to pause and honour the incredible sacrifices and contributions of the mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures in our lives.
Beyond the flowers and heartfelt messages, it’s also a time to reflect on how we can meaningfully uplift and support women - especially those in underserved communities who continue to inspire us through their determination and care.
Our latest Donate for Good feature, The Heartfelt Project, offers investors a way to give back while growing their financial futures. Every small act of giving creates a ripple of change, and this month, we’re focusing on celebrating women through support that extends far beyond Mother’s Day.
The Heartfelt Project (started by Martha Letsoalo with Julie Hadley) is a proudly South African community of women who handcraft beautiful, meaningful products with purpose. Founded in the small town of Makapanstad, the initiative not only provides employment and income for local women but also helps them develop skills, build confidence, and support their families. Each handmade item tells a story of hope, strength, and creativity - the very qualities that so many mothers embody every day.
The organisation explains: "Spreading the love one heart at a time. Heartfelt's mission is to continually create employment for unemployed women in the rural community of Makapanstad through the creation of unique, contemporary felt designs - empowering not only the lives of these women but also contributing to the well-being of the community as a whole."
“By donating to the organisation, investors aren’t just honouring the women in their lives - they’re helping empower others to rise, create, and care within their own communities. Giving back has never been more accessible or more deeply rooted in purpose,” said Carly Esterhuizen, VP of Brand at EasyEquities. As we celebrate the women who raise the nation, let’s also invest in a future where every woman has the chance to thrive. To learn more about "Donate for Good," click here or below.
