Valentine’s Day is coming - where’s your boy/girlfriend? 🎶👀 While consumers are on the hunt to fund ‘special’ romantic getaways and bookings, investors can look forward to earnings announcements this week from some of the world’s leading travel and leisure companies, such as Airbnb and Marriott International.

Instead of just spending on those stays, why not also consider benefiting from the bookings made?

McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Shopify, DraftKings, Moderna, Vertiv, Cisco, Coinbase, and Astera Labs Inc. will also be announcing earnings this week.

Special payouts and stock dividends are on the way for shareholders of Trencor Limited, Equinor ASA, and Southern Copper Corp.

  • Trencor Limited will pay a special dividend exceeding 80% of the current share price at the time of writing.
  • Equinor ASA has a history of paying special dividends alongside ordinary payouts.
  • Southern Copper Corp typically pays a cash dividend, with investors also receiving additional shares.

Fixed Income & Monthly Payouts

The EasyGovBond (SAGB R2035) will be paying its first coupon payment for 2025. The last date to invest to qualify for this payout is this week. This bond, along with other South African government bonds (EasyGovBonds), is available in the Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA) and Retirement Annuity (RA) account.

The Prescient Income Provider Feeder AMETF (Actively Managed Exchange-Traded Fund) will pay its monthly dividend this week. The last trading date to qualify is also this week, and the AMETF is available in the TFSA.

In currency investments, ABSA’s NewWave ETNs (Exchange-Traded Notes), which offer exposure to the Dollar, Euro, and British Pound, are preparing to distribute cash to noteholders.
