How to Donate for Good
Donating is easy. When you buy an investment, you'll see the option to contribute on the final confirmation page. Choose to donate R5, R50, or R500, depending on your preference. The default value is zero, so there's no obligation if you're unable to donate. Just ensure you have enough funds in your available cash. This feature is available in EasyEquities ZAR and TFSA accounts.

Breadline Africa: A Beacon of Hope
Founded in Cape Town in 1993, Breadline Africa has shifted from grant-giving to providing essential infrastructure for under-resourced pre and primary schools. One of their missions is to eliminate pit toilets and ensure safe, hygienic facilities for children in rural KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape.



In partnership with the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), Breadline Africa aims to eradicate pit toilets in 240 schools with a budget of R156 million. This partnership began in April 2023 and recently celebrated a milestone: on May 9, 2024, 40 new toilet facilities were installed in the Eastern Cape, benefiting 427 children and 34 teachers.

Marion Wagner, CEO of Breadline Africa, emphasizes the daunting journey ahead. Over 3,900 public schools still rely on pit toilets, compromising the safety and health of countless children. With DBSA’s landmark R8.6-million investment, there is hope. This investment aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), particularly SDG 6, which aims for universal access to adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene by 2030.
