On Friday, US semiconductor stocks continued to move lower after reports of the US planning to tighten restrictions on exports of semiconductor technology to China and Donald Trump's comments on Taiwan.

While semiconductor stocks have had the spotlight since the AI (artificial intelligence) boom, one key player contributing to this industry's efficiency is Vertiv Holding Co, a leading cooling giant in the semiconductor space. Its stock rose more than 3% on Friday before its quarterly earnings.

  • Vertiv Holding Co is expected to announce its earnings this week. The stock has gained nearly 90% since the beginning of the year.
  • Chipotle Mexican Grill, which recently performed one of the biggest stock splits in New York Stock Exchange history, will also announce its quarterly earnings this week. Its shares are up 20% in 2024.
  • GE Vernova will be announcing its second quarterly earnings after it successfully spun off in April this year. Despite not reaching earnings expectations in the first quarter, the company is expected to grow its EPS (earnings per share) this quarter. The stock is up almost 20% since it was listed earlier this year.

Past performance does not guarantee future performance, and a beat in earnings and revenue could increase stocks' value. Other names expected to report earnings this week include Alphabet (Google), which is reportedly in talks to buy Wiz (a cybersecurity startup), Tesla, Visa, Coca-Cola, Spotify, General Motors 'GM', Ford, and American Airlines.

Companies with upcoming last dates to trade this week include Delta Air Lines Inc., which increased its quarterly dividend by 50% compared to the previous payout. ASML Holding NV will be distributing payments in both the US and European markets.

In addition to the company with an upcoming LDT, several funds from 1nvest and FNB will distribute cash to holders. This week is also the last day to trade to qualify for this payout.
