This month, investors have the opportunity to support the TAG Foundation by donating via EasyEquities through the "Donate for Good" feature, allowing investors to contribute to the charity during their investment transactions.

The foundation supports 64 children at King Edward VII School and Parktown High School for Girls. "Our target for 2024 is R6.8 million, which we aim to achieve through donations and fundraising activities," TAG Foundation CEO Jonathan Gerber said.

Our Chief Marketing Officer, Carel Nolte, said, "We have had dozens of charities on the Donate for Good programme and have raised hundreds of thousands of rands for good causes. This is not the first time we have supported the TAG Foundation, which does superb work in assisting both boys and girls in getting a good education at some of Johannesburg’s top schools."

The TAG Foundation will channel the funds to the Daniel Lopes Memorial Scholarship (DLMS).

In 2018, 12-year-old Daniel Lopes died in an accident. His parents, Tony and Kerry, and his brother Marco, established the DLMS with Jonathan Gerber from the TAG Foundation. Tony's friends from King Edward VII School (KES) also supported the scholarship, aiming to help financially strapped families with water polo expenses. “Jonathan Gerber and the Lopes family are invaluable members of our society, deeply committed to uplifting our youth through education and securing a brighter future for scores of South Africans,” Carel added.

In 2022, the Tag Foundation launched an initiative to ensure at least one student gains access to top-quality education. The Foundation's Programme Manager, Senzo Mkhoze, elaborates.

The first funds helped a student finish high school at KES and now assists the school's water polo coaches. The DLMS provides partial funding for school and boarding fees and covers other costs as needed. Tony added that he wants to give young men the chance to experience the brotherhood, camaraderie, and pride he felt while boarding and being educated at one of Johannesburg’s finest schools.

The TAG Foundation is also raising funds through a raffle for two tickets to the Springboks vs. Ireland game at Loftus on July 6. Tickets cost R100 and are available on their website. Investors can also contribute to the DLMS by adding a donation to your next EasyEquities transaction.
