EasyResearch Weekly Dividends Update

EasyResearch Weekly Dividends Update
2:57

It’s an auction and dividends week as EasyProperties begins the Cluster 1 auction process and announces dividend payouts from several properties.

  • Rockefeller, Polofields, Kikuyu, and Greenpark are some of the properties that will be paying dividends, followed by auctions!

As for companies that will be paying dividends with upcoming last dates to trade, the journey exploring the global markets continues. This week’s update includes companies with American Depositary Receipt (ADR) shares or ADS.

American Depositary Receipt (ADR) shares represent ownership of foreign shares held by a U.S. bank, allowing U.S. investors to trade foreign stocks on domestic exchanges. The ADR ratio indicates the number of foreign shares equivalent to one ADS.

Companies with upcoming dividends include:

  • Haleon Plc: A consumer healthcare products company; each ADS represents 2 ordinary shares. Haleon will be paying dividends in both the U.S. and British markets.
  • Barclays PLC: A global investment bank (ADR ratio: 4 ordinary shares per 1 ADS), paying shareholders in both the British and American markets.
  • GSK Plc: A pharmaceuticals and vaccines company (2 ordinary shares per 1 ADS), paying dividends in the American and British markets.
  • Shell PLC: A global oil and gas company (2 ordinary shares per 1 ADS), paying dividends in the British, American, and European markets.
  • Rio Tinto Plc: A global mining company (1 ordinary share per 1 ADS), paying dividends in the Australian, British, and American markets.

Omnia Holdings Limited, a South African diversified chemicals and services provider, and Equinor ASA, a Norwegian oil and gas company investing in renewables, will be paying ordinary and special dividends, with the last date to trade within the week.

Regarding upcoming earnings, Walmart is expected to announce its quarterly results this week.

Walmart, one of the world’s largest multinational retailers, has recently started 'testing the waters 💧' in the buy now, pay later (BNPL) space, a market expected to continue growing in the coming years. This move is through ‘One,’ a fintech startup backed by Walmart, introducing competition for Affirm (a U.S. BNPL pioneer that previously partnered with Walmart).

  • Locally, Makro & Game, both acquired by Walmart in 2022, also allow BNPL through Payflex, which was previously owned by Zip Co, and PayJustNow (a segment of Homechoice International).

Are you investing in the buy now, pay later market? 🤔

Additionally, other companies gearing up to post quarterly results this week include Alibaba Group (with a ratio of 1 ADS representing eight (8) ordinary shares), Tencent Music Entertainment Group, JD Group (each ADS representing 2 ordinary shares), UBS Group AG, and MindMed.
