New week, new opportunity to build a dividend income portfolio.
Last Friday, U.S. shares closed in the red after jobs data indicated that another rate hike could be on the table. The U.S. economy will also release inflation data, followed by the Fed announcing the rate changes.
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. and Automatic Data Processing Inc. are among the companies that closed in green territory (included in our latest dividend update) amid concerns about interest rates and inflation in the U.S. economy.
When it comes to Artificial Intelligence, besides NVIDIA getting ready to pay its first dividend, which was increased by 150% before the recent 10-for-1 stock split, Vertiv Holdings, a critical infrastructure leader, is expected to grow in value due to its cooling systems for high-performance computing. The company will be paying its second quarterly dividend after initially starting with annual payouts in late 2020 (shares are up nearly 400% since then). This year’s total payout, including the upcoming quarterly payout, is 400% higher than the previous annual payout(s) before 2023.
It’s also worth noting that NVIDIA is one of EasyEquities' thriving stocks, which qualifies for brokerage discounts. Other names popular among the EasyCommunity are Alibaba Group Holdings Limited, Meta Platforms Inc and Coca-Cola
Both (Alibaba Group Holdings Limited and Meta Platforms Inc.) will pay their second quarterly dividend, although Alibaba will top its second quarterly dividend with a special dividend.
