Last week, Altvest launched its IPO (exclusively available on EasyEquities) and will be listing on the JSE. The company aims to provide retail investors with access to exclusive, high-quality investment opportunities in SMEs and alternative assets that were previously reserved for institutions and the wealthy.

The offer includes Ordinary Shares (long-term growth), A Shares (Umganu Lodge), B Shares (Bambanani Family Group), and C Shares (Altvest Credit Opportunities Fund for SMEs).

Webjet Limited, a leading digital travel organization operating market-leading travel brands and travel tech businesses, is proceeding with its demerger. It will create two independent businesses: WEB Travel Group (renamed Webjet Limited ‘Webjet B2B’) and Webjet B2C.

  • The last day to participate in this event is this week, after which Webjet Limited shareholders will receive one Webjet B2C share.

Among dividend-paying companies, Flight Centre Travel Group Limited (a leading travel and leisure company) is included in this week's update. 

Main Street Capital Corp, a business development company that provides debt and equity capital to lower middle-market companies, will be paying a second dividend after paying its monthly dividend last week.

  • Gladstone Investment, a business development company, and Gladstone Land, a REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) focused on net-lease agricultural properties, also pay monthly dividends. The last day to buy shares that qualify for the September dividend is this week.
