South Africa was recently recognised as the most generous nation in the world, according to the GoodThingsGuy, reflecting a society deeply rooted in empathy, care for others and a strong sense of shared responsibility. This generosity is not limited to moments of crisis, but shows up consistently in how individuals and communities support causes that create meaningful, long-term change.
In light of this, EasyEquities’ Donate for Good continues to demonstrate the power of collective giving. Over the years, the initiative has featured around 70 organisations, supporting a diverse range of causes including education, youth development, health awareness, feeding schemes, cancer support, community safety, and care for vulnerable groups. Together, the EasyEquities community has raised nearly R1.8 million for these organisations, a testament to an engaged, values-driven investor base and a programme that continues to go from strength to strength.
Introducing Tracker Academy as Donate for Good’s First 2026 Feature
As Donate for Good enters 2026, Tracker Academy has been selected as the first featured organisation for the year. Tracker Academy is a South African organisation dedicated to preserving and professionalising the ancient skill of animal tracking, while creating sustainable employment opportunities for individuals from rural and marginalised communities. Established in 2010 under the Peace Parks Foundation, the academy brings together indigenous knowledge and modern conservation practices.
A Philosophy of Connection
The academy’s mission is driven by a desire to foster genuine connections between people, their heritage, and the natural world. This commitment to "right relations" is evident in their partner projects, such as Kruger Untamed, which has spent its first two seasons evolving and refining its wilderness experience.
Managing a seasonal, fully off-grid camp in the heart of Kruger National Park presents unique complexities. The team has navigated these challenges with agility, viewing every obstacle as a necessary lesson in their journey to create a sustainable footprint. As Alex van den Heever co-founded the Tracker Academy, explains: “Nature isn’t just as a backdrop. She is our partner. We are deeply connected to this place, so we work hard to look after it. That’s how we achieved the first-ever perfect environmental score in Kruger National Park. Come see for yourself.”
Turning Generosity into Action
“The feature turns South Africa’s generosity into tangible action by supporting Tracker Academy, which means investing in people, preserving indigenous knowledge systems, and protecting wildlife for future generations,” said Carel Nolte, EasyEquities' Chief Enablement Officer.
The success of these conservation efforts is reflected in the positive feedback from the community and the high number of visitors who choose to return to experience the wilderness again. Tracker Academy’s impact extends well beyond skills development:
- Specialised Expertise: Through accredited programmes, learners gain vital tracking skills used in research and wildlife protection.
- Economic Upliftment: Graduates transition into professional conservation roles, earning a living while safeguarding biodiversity.
- Shared Growth: The academy remains grateful to the early supporters who have helped them improve and grow their impact.
How to Get Involved
By adding Tracker Academy to Donate for Good, EasyEquities offers its investor community a simple way to support a cause that delivers both social and environmental value. This initiative enables investors to align their financial journeys with purposeful giving, making it easier to contribute to conservation-driven community upliftment.
Additionally, the next season of the Kruger Untamed experience is set to begin on 1 May 2026, with opportunities for new and returning guests to witness this impact firsthand.
