From tackling opponents on the field, which led to the Springboks being crowned champions in 2023 🏆 for the first time since 2019, to tackling real issues on the ground ✊, Siya Kolisi (captain of the Springboks) together with Rachel Kolisi are making waves through the Kolisi Foundation, and investors can be part of the journey!
Founded by Rachel and Siya Kolisi, the Kolisi Foundation was born out of a deep desire to use their platforms to drive meaningful change. Having witnessed the challenges that many NGOs face on the ground, Rachel and Siya wanted to approach philanthropy differently. Rather than re-invent the wheel, the Kolisi Foundation has chosen to partner with organisations that have a pre-existing footprint in communities. By resourcing these established groups, the Kolisi Foundation amplifies their impact, ensuring that efforts are more sustainable and far-reaching. Through this collaborative approach, the Foundation is committed to changing the stories of inequality and empowering those most in need.
The Kolisi Foundation focuses on three integrated areas: Gender-Based Violence, Food Security, and Education & Sport. We believe that no area exists in isolation.
"We focus on these three areas because each one impacts and is influenced by the others. Through our holistic approach, we aim to break the cycles of poverty and violence by addressing these interconnected issues, creating a sustainable impact that uplifts entire communities. By working on all three areas together, we can drive deeper and more meaningful change."
Last year, the Kolisi Foundation partnered with Adidas South Africa to donate merchandise through the #ImpossibleIsNothing Youth Day competition where participants submitted videos capturing the essence of Adidas’s “Impossible is Nothing” and the foundation’s motto, “Remember the one, one by one,” for a chance to win. Adidas shares are also available on EasyEquities.
EasyEquities’ Chief Marketing Officer, Carel Nolte, added: "Just as investing should be accessible to everyone without discrimination, sport should also be freely available to people from different backgrounds to allow them to reach their full potential. Sport's power to inspire, unite, and build social cohesion has never been in doubt. As Nelson Mandela once famously said, sport has the power to change the world, inspire, unite people, and bring hope where there was once despair."
"By making investments accessible to all, investors on EasyEquites can contribute any amount to the efforts of the Kolisi Foundation to continue making an impact on different communities through the 'Donate for Good' initiative, while buying their desired share(s)."
