WOW Empowers Students Using Easy DonateForGood Funds!

During September 2023, nearly 2,000 EasyVSTRs took the initiative to lend a hand to Words Open Worlds (WOW).

WOW is a transformative organization dedicated to empowering young individuals through education, and fostering appreciation for language, literature, and the arts. Their impactful initiatives extend to over 1,400 schools and touch the lives of an astonishing 150,000 eager learners in severely under-resourced communities throughout South Africa. By employing innovative approaches, WOW is not only making learning enjoyable but also opening doors and expanding horizons. This demonstrates their commitment to proving that education is the key to unlocking dreams and achieving greatness, creating a lasting impact on the educational landscape.

In total, more than R23,000 was donated to WOW through the DonateForGood initiative on the EasyEquities platform, and some of the funds raised during the period of being a beneficiary were also allocated to help support and empower two students, Dorinda le Roux and Jamey Gideons, who will be studying at the University of Stellenbosch Explaining what the students intend to use the funds for, Fiona Van Kerwel, WOW project manager, said, "Dorinda will use the funds to buy herself a laptop. She will be studying Economic Management Sciences. Jamey will be using the funds to purchase textbooks and stationery and cover transport costs with her support bursary."
