Weekly Dividends Update

Weekly Dividends Update
1:43

February could be a special month, with special cash payouts from companies behind some popular, well-known brands, such as:

  • Super Group SGHC, one of Africa’s leading gambling operators and the parent company of Betway.
  • Reckitt Benckiser Group, one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies, which owns brands such as Vanish, Dettol, Durex and Strepsils.
    • In addition, Reckitt Benckiser will also be performing a share consolidation at a ratio of 24-for-25.

Similar to dividends, where fractional shares qualify for payouts, the same applies to the share consolidation.

Earnings are also on the way, with several companies set to announce their quarterly results. These include Tesla, Apple, Meta, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Visa and MasterCard.

What is also worth noting is the following:

  • Apple is expected to maintain its cash dividend before potentially increasing it in the next quarter.
  • Meta, on the other hand, is expected to increase its dividend after releasing its results.
  • Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman are among the defence stocks at the centre of discussions about potentially benefiting from the current geopolitical environment.
    • Lockheed Martin is expected to pay the same dividend for the next three quarters this year before possibly increasing it, based on historical payout patterns.
    • Northrop Grumman is expected to announce its quarterly dividend next month, which could be followed by an increase.

For fixed-income investors, the South African Reserve Bank is set to deliver its first interest rate decision of 2026 this week, a move that could influence pricing across South African government bonds.

Government bonds offer a reliable way to earn fixed income by lending money to the government in exchange for regular interest payments.
Dividends are one of the many key components of investing, representing a share of a company's profits distributed to its shareholders.
Special dividends, also known as extraordinary dividends, are one-time payments made by companies to shareholders due to specific financial events, like windfall profits or asset sales.
