Whether you’ve forgotten your username or entered the wrong password too many times, these things happen. But don't stress, we’re here to help! Below is a simple, step-by-step guide to get you back on track. No tech headaches, just clear solutions.
Forgot Your Username? Here's How to Find It:
Your username is sent to you in the Welcome email when you first sign up. Can’t find it or remember what it was? Follow these quick steps to retrieve it:
- On the login page, click 'Forgot Username'.
- Enter your email address and date of birth.
- Your username will be sent to the email address on file.
If you don’t see the email in your inbox, check your spam folder or any other email addresses you might have used. If you still don’t receive it, there’s a chance your email was incorrectly entered when registering. In this case, log a ticket, and our team will get you sorted in no time.
Want to Update Your Username?
You can! Just log a ticket with our support team and let them know:
- Your current username
- Your new desired username
Forgot Your Password?
If you can’t remember your password, don’t panic. Here’s how to reset it:
- On the login page, tap 'Forgot Password'.
- Enter your username (not your email address).
- You’ll receive a verification code via email.
- Copy the code, paste it into the provided space on the 'Reset Password' page, and tap 'Validate'.
- Follow the prompts to reset and confirm your new password.
If you don’t get the email, check your spam or junk folder. Still having issues? Double-check that you entered the correct username. If you're still unsure, follow our steps for retrieving your username.
Once you’ve reset your password, restart the app, and voilà — you’re back in!
Locked Out After Too Many Attempts
Entered the wrong password a few too many times? We’ve locked your account for security reasons, but don’t worry! You can unlock it by resetting your password following the steps above. Easy peasy.
Can't Access Certain Accounts? Here's Why:
If you’re having trouble accessing certain accounts, it might be because of one of these reasons:
- Profile Incomplete: Make sure your profile is fully verified with all necessary details, including your KYC (Know Your Customer) info.
- Foreign National Registration: If you registered as a foreign national, some account types (like ZAR and TFSA) won’t be available unless you have a South African ID and bank account. If you do, log a ticket, and we’ll help open a ZAR account for you.
- ID Mismatch: If there’s a discrepancy between your ID and what’s on file at Home Affairs, we might need more info to verify your account.
Unable to Invest? Here's the Fix:
If you’ve made a deposit but can’t use the funds, it might be due to breaching your Source of Funds value. Don’t worry, though! Just log a ticket with the topic query SOFV (Source of Funds Verification), and we’ll guide you through what documents we need to lift the restriction.
Tips for Keeping Your Account Secure:
Use unique passwords for every site you’re registered on.
- Create strong passwords: Use a mix of characters, numbers, and letters.
- Never share your password — EasyEquities will never ask for it.
- Monitor account activity and contact us if anything seems suspicious.
- Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to add an extra layer of security.
